Lincoln photographer gets a helping hand from the Prince's Trust
An award-winning Lincoln photographer has opened a photography and gifts shop in the historic Bailgate area of the city that will feature local artists work with backing from the Prince's Trust.

A real achievement, especially in this sometimes fickle field of fashion and surviving at least two recessions, including the latest. Chantel is recognised by costomers as one of the best places to shop for shoes in Lincoln.

Frances Shippey, owner and bag enthusiast and her team have a passion for their customers and ensuring that they match the right bag to the right person. Frances explained "We like to find out what the customer wants the bag for, what they want the bag to do and how they'd like to wear it." These are all practical considerations but Frances stressed "The most important thing is that your bag works for you, whether that means it has the right length strap, has the pockets in the right place, has a fastening that suits you or it's the perfect colour."
The Bag Shop on Steep Hill is open seven days a week and you are always welcome to call in and have some fun trying the different styles and sizes, they have over 50 different suppliers so there's plenty of choice. If your preference is designer brands they stock Guess, Kipling, Storm, Fiorelli, Ciccia, Ri2K, Billy Bag and many more or if you want ti take the ethical option, choose a bag from one of five British Manufacturers with less "bag miles"!! Or one that is made from sustainable materials like hemp, organic cotton or seagrass. You will always find something exclusive at the Bag Shop, for example a new brand called Aura Que, from an up and coming British designer, whose fair trade bag are made in Napal with outstanding design and were recently featured in the Sunday Telegraph.
Frances started selling bags seven years ago, by initially attending local events and realised there was a fabulous opportunity to open a shop, which she did in Stamford five years ago, then the Lincoln shop opened three years ago on Steep Hill.
